The ∅

Your cybernetic device has apprehended the particle of all particles; its loops and convulsions are beautiful and horrifying and it seems to have some sort of advanced sentience. You see in its endless folds images across time, expanses no human was ever supposed to glimpse. it is the pattern contained inside all other patterns.

This piece was made and rendered in touchdesigner to accompany live dj audio at an event i helped produce. The audio here is template audio provided by touchdesigner to animate and test the generative elements. parameters such as video playback speed and the dancing blob masking layer are bound by the kick, low, and snare of the input audio, and the scenes contained within the blobular masking layer are all controlled by me using midi dials. Thus, the output video, especially when paired with live audio, is generative and never identical to separate playbacks.

the title is a reference to the mathematical empty set.
