anti-mediums

Works made during my final semester at Swarthmore College and exhibited at the List Gallery in May 2023 as my Senior Thesis.

Exploring Dichotomies through the procedural, durative medium of cyanotype:  remembering and forgetting, technology and environment, order and chaos, creation and destruction, growth and decay. also at play here are the "anti-mediums" of table salt, hydrogen peroxide, and india ink, as well as van dyke brown. the medium and anti-mediums react with and corrode each other, resulting in a final print of the original photo but distorted during the process of its development. I attempt here to display both the print and its corrosion as art simultaneously
